President Obama's State of the Union address was delivered on Tuesday, January 24, 2012. I think that the key idea of his speech was centered on equality for all social classes. He quoted, "We can either settle for a country where a shrinking number of people do really well, while a growing number of Americans barely get by. Or we can restore an economy where everyone gets a fair shot, everyone does their fair share, and everyone plays by the same set of rules." I believe he was indicating the fact that in order for America's economy to be restored, people need to work together and be willing to compromise.
Obama talked about moving forward a couple of times during the speech, and about moving our economy forward. He also stated that he will move forward with or without congress. Without Congress’ consent, Obama won’t be able to do everything he says he will. Also, he talked about having natural gas for 100 years. Will it really be 100 years? Clean energy is another topic. What is clean energy? What did he mean by clean?
I think that President Obama had some great ideas in his speach. My favorite part was when Obama said that he was going to pass a law that doesn't allow students to drop out from school. Many students nowadays try to take the easy way out by getting their GED instead of finishing school and graduating. But in my opinion, they miss out on learning and on what the whole point of what school is. I look forward to when this law is passed, and students will complete their education.

I believe that Obama is trying to find a way to get americans more jobs by expanding the industry.
Obama tried to say that the U.S. is in better shape than it is. He wants everyone to believe it and maybe believe he is doing a better job than he is. He is still for the rich side and is not helping the poor and middle class who just keep getting worse.

A very well organized speech. I agreed on some of the things he plans on changing like when he said, "I will not go back down on oil spills."
