Kadafi is dead! Discuss the political, national, and internal effects his death will have on the world. You can use quotes from the media, be sure to give credit.
Kadhafi's unexpected death will have significant effects on the world. After his death, “foreign companies will have a huge incentive to begin production in Libya as quick as possible in order to take advantage of high oil prices.” (Agustino Fontevecchia, Forbes.com) Also, the political state of Libya will be bizarre because supporters and non supporters of Kadhafi will all begin to clash for the position of dictator. Finally, Libya will be greatly weakened due to the loss of their powerful leader.
I think this will stop the world from being in so much fear. One less evil dictator is what we need. He executed his own people and used the money Libya received for oil imports for himself and his family.
The death of Moammar Gadhafi leaves a hole in the government of Libya. Someone or some group of people are going to try to fill it. “The National Transitional Council leader Mustafa Abdul-Jalil said Sunday that Islamic Sharia law would be the main source of legislation, that laws contradicting its tenets would be nullified, and that polygamy would be legalized.” (AP) This statement made the international community nervous that an extremist Islamic country might emerge. Later, Abdul-Jalil said, “After giving a speech that emphasized the Islamization of Libya, the head of the transitional government on Monday tried to reassure the Western powers who helped topple Moammar Gadhafi that the country's new leaders are moderate Muslims.” (AP) However the International Community was concerned that some human rights maybe violated. So, Abdul-Jalil made another statement to try to ease their fears. “This doesn't mean that Libya will become a theocracy. There is no chance of that whatsoever. Libya will be a civic state, a democratic state and, in principle, its laws will not contradict democracy," (AP)
Libya as a radical Islamic country could be like Taliban, in which the human rights are violated. Or they could be a moderate Islamic nation like Saudi Arabia, where western ideas are more accepted. They could have peaceful trade with other countries. The International Community would like to see a country that will participate in world politics and be a good, peaceful country. We don’t know what they will become yet, because they are still deciding.
Moammar Gadhafi's death will have effects across the worl, as well as here in the United States. According to local experts there are still a lot of unknowns following the revolution in Libya, but they say we will definitely feel the consequences here. Gadhafi's death could effect the war on terror and how much we pay for gasoline. Libya is one of the world's biggest oil producers, and peace in Libya could drive down gas prices in the United States. The death of Gadhafi could have a positive effect on the war in Afgahistan since Gadhafi himself was one of the biggest supporters of global terrorism.
Kadhafi's death is a great thing because now there is another tyrant gone from the world. Hopefully there will be less stress and fear in the world because of it.
The national effect was that it brought joy and happiness because he was despised. "He (had) demanded that foreign oil companies in Libya share a bigger portion of revenue with the country" ("Muammar al-Qaddafi" 2011. Biography.com). When he said "share with the country" what I think he really meant was share with me. But know that he is dead, people can sell oil without being scared of their money being taken.
On the global and political level, Gadhafi's death, along with an end to dictatorship, seems like a victory for democracy, the Enlightenmen't continuing effects. However, Libya now has the burden to set up their own democracy. Will they be able to uphold democracy? That is the question that doesn't yet have an answer. Libya is weak, without a central controll, and inexperienced. Also, democracy is based on a large, literate middle class. * As a result, the larger the gap between rich and poor, the less chance there is of a successful democracy. The risky transition Libya is now in presents "a vast array of problems (OC Register, Death Blow to Tyranny)." The people are now faced with the task of recovering their country from the past violence and strengthening their economy and their people. If Libya remains strong, they can accomplish the foreboding task. So, will Libya become a successful democracy or crumble? I hope they will become a government "by the people and for the people (Gettsyburg Address)." We shall see.

One less terrorist- the better for our world and the country of Libya. There may be hope now for Libya. But that is just a small part of it. There are still many terrorists out there with the mission to destroy the world.
Kadhafis death will impact the world greatly, because even though he was a dictator and many of his people did not like him this change could effect our gas prices. It is a good thing he is gone, it will hopefully give people some peace.
